eClinicalWorks Rolls Out New EHR Version, Touts Growth

ambulatory electronic medical record vendor eClinicalWorks recently announced a new version for its cloud-based software, and highlighted the increase in its user base.

The company was founded in 1999 and stated that Version 12 (V12), its software, offers many enhancements such as:

  • Application performance has been improved by up to 40% over the previous version.

  • Improved usability through click reducers, and redesigned medication administration screens

  • A floating toolbar that allows for quick access to key workflow features, such as patient records, virtual assistants, and documents

  • PRISMA is the industry's premier health information search engine. It offers value-based care enhancements.

  • New products include healow Sign, healow Survey and healow Chatbot

  • Specialty-focused workflows in OB/GYN and pediatrics.

Girish Navani (CEO and cofounder of eClinicalWorks) stated that V12 is superior to the current state-of-the art EHR. He said V12 has improved performance, usability and interoperability. A statement was made. "We are improving Revenue Cycle Management and modules to value-based care models. We provide advanced solutions for all our customers to help them set up their practices for success. eClinicalWorks continues innovation and investment in new product capabilities and cloud services.

Navani stated that the company saw significant growth in 2022 with revenue increasing 10 percent year-over-year. The company's GAAP revenue is projected to reach $800 million, which compares to $727 million for 2021. The number of providers who use eClinicalWorks has increased to over 146,000. In 2022, the company saw an increase of 10 percent in its employee base.

He said that eClinicalWorks was well-positioned with its $100 million investment in cloud service, and this growth, to enhance health IT offerings and provide customers with the most technologically-forward tools on the market.

eClinicalWorks also reports that it has witnessed an increase in the use of workflow solutions for streamlined operations, value-based care and efficiency. According to the company:

  • 2.25 million TeleVisits per year

  • 50,000,000+ patient engagement notifications per year using eClinicalMessenger

  • PRISMA has more than 2.6 Million patient records that are exchanged daily with EHR vendors via PRISMA

It provides IT services for many Federally Qualified Health Centers. It announced recently that 22-site FQHC communCare has switched to eClinicalWorks EHR. The company also offers additional services to support its care of more than 95,000 patients in San Antonio, Texas. Paul Nguyen (President and CEO of CommuniCare), stated that the previous EHR was not optimized to the cloud and had only limited features and subpar performance compared with eClinicalWorks. To accomplish simple tasks, we had to rely upon third-party software.

Because of the intuitive and user-friendly software, we switched to eClinicalWorks. Our providers can help patients get the best possible outcomes with seamless, customizable integrations. eClinicalWorks also allows front- and back-office staff streamline workflows to provide a better patient experience.
