Features and Benefits of Athena EMR

If you are looking for an electronic health record (EMR) system, you may want to consider Athenahealth EMR. This cloud-based system is HIPPA and MACRA/MIPS certified. Athenahealth provides health care networks, point-of-care mobile apps, and other healthcare services. It is a leading provider of cloud-based EMR software. This article will discuss the features and benefits of Athena EMR.

Athenahealth is a Leading Provider of Cloud-Based Electronic Health Records

Despite the many benefits that come with using a cloud-based system, not all providers are equally impressed with athenahealth. The company has a diverse portfolio of services that help healthcare organizations manage and optimize their processes, which is why it has won awards from multiple industry publications. For instance, in one study, athenahealth was ranked #1 by Best in KLAS for two of its most successful product solutions for ambulatory care.

The company's product solutions also integrate seamlessly with a provider's workflow, providing fast access to clinical data when it is needed. Furthermore, they have expertise in revenue cycle management and understand the unique challenges and demands of a healthcare organization, including the need for ongoing staffing and back-office burnout.

Despite its recent acquisition by Veritas Capital, the company's revenue has struggled in recent years.

The company had reported disappointing revenue and bookings in a competitive health IT market, resulting in a share price that fell by 30% in 2018. However, it has managed to recover from its slump by announcing a definitive agreement to acquire mobile health pioneer Epocrates. Despite the problems, the new owners plan to rapidly scale the business and establish a multi-sided digital care network.

It Integrates with Daily Workflow

Athena EMR software helps you integrate patient care into your daily workflow, allowing you to focus on providing the best patient care possible. Its intuitive user interface enables clinicians to complete tasks easily, such as placing orders and documenting exams. It also features robust reporting functions and a robust data collection platform, helping you improve clinical efficiency. AthenaOne integrates with your daily workflow, making it easier to manage your inbox and complete urgent tasks.

AthenaHealth's enhanced revenue cycle services remove administrative burdens and seamlessly integrate into your daily workflow. These services include fast, accurate medical coding, authorization management, complex claims processing, and denial resolution. Patients can also self-schedule appointments, reducing staff time and call volumes. With athenaTelehealth, your patients can book their appointments online, via the patient portal, or even via email.

It is HIPPA Certified

Athena EMR is a highly versatile and efficient healthcare platform. This HIPPA certified software has a robust suite of features to support the needs of any hospital or physician office. Its consulting services offer 24/7/365 help desk support and ensure full compliance with HIPPA and SOC2 standards. Additionally, these consultants provide employee training on the use of the software, as well. Whether you're a small practice or a large enterprise, Athena EMR is the perfect fit.

Athena EMR includes a host of practice management, patient portal, and billing capabilities. The patient portal provides a forum for patient interaction. Its customizable and branded platform makes it feel like your own website. You can even set up benchmarks for your practice with the help of a medical community that is over 150,000 strong. Athena EMR is HIPPA certified, which means you can rest assured that your information is safe.

It is MACRA and MIPS certified

MACRA requires physicians to participate in either one of two payment tracks: ACI or MIPS. These tracks measure cost, quality, and clinical practice improvement. ACI is the replacement for meaningful use, which will be phased out. In 2017, cost will no longer count toward a physician's MIPS score, but it will still be used to evaluate a physician's performance in quality measures. Physicians must also choose a certified EHR system.

For MACRA and MIPS compliance, a provider must ensure that their EMR meets certain requirements. Athenahealth is committed to helping customers meet these standards, even if they choose to opt out of the program. If they do not, they will incur penalties. This guarantee protects the provider from MACRA downward payment adjustments. It also features AthenaOne, a cloud-based EMR that integrates practice management and EHR workflows for quality, data, and MIPS reporting.

It is HITECH certified

Athena EMR is HITECH-certified, meaning that it adheres to all applicable federal and state regulations concerning electronic health records. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the federal government has established regulations governing the use, disclosure, and retention of individually identifiable health information, otherwise known as PHI. The HITECH Act also creates incentives for the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) that meet certain criteria.

AthenaClinicals is the most advanced EHR available in the marketplace. It maximizes revenue potential by boosting workflow efficiency, offloading paperwork, and improving patient care through closed-loop order management. Additionally, Athena is HIPPA, MIPS, and HITECH certified. Although I purchased this system based on its HITECH certification, I'm unhappy with the user interface. The system crashes often, and some users report issues with basic features.

It is Serverless

Athena EMR is a serverless platform that runs on Amazon Web Services. The serverless architecture allows for multiple jobs to be processed in parallel and dynamically allocate workers based on the job's requirements. EMR Serverless also supports cost tracking, separate logical environments and teams, and separate applications. EMR Serverless automatically scales the number of workers based on the workload and concurrency of the job.

A new feature of EMR Serverless is that it removes the burden of managing an EMR cluster. With this feature, customers can choose an open source framework, trigger the application, and pay only for what they use. The Serverless model is based on the number of workers. In addition, customers are only charged for the resources that their applications consume. To get started, you can create your free account. The EMR Serverless feature is currently in Preview mode, so it may change or be discontinued in the future.
